Paper Towels -- use newspaper to clean mirrors and windows (less lint and less streaking). Use re-usable cloths (e.g. Handiwipes) to clean up messes in the kitchen or to wipe toddlers' faces (I keep mine color-coded. The pink one is to clean up Meghan; the blue one cleans off the counters). Use guest towels in the bathroom.
Paper Napkins -- switch to cloth napkins. I just leave our napkins on the table for breakfast, lunch and dinner. When I change the tablecloth, I change the napkins, too. A little more laundry, a lot less waste.
Tissues -- old fashioned, but consider switching to handkerchiefs. Also much easier on your children's noses.
Baby wipes -- use a warm, wet washcloth. This is also gentler on your child's skin (you're not using soap every time). [Note: I DO use baby wipes on the road, but not at home]
Just a couple of ideas to cut down on your trash and your bills!
